Obituary

Larry Weiss, 66, of Red Lake Falls, MN, died on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM, at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend John Bumgardner Officiating. Burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wylie, MN. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, from 5 - 9 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. John Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Larry Allan Weiss was born January 30, 1947 in Red Lake Falls, MN, son of the Late Clarence and Viola (Weiss) Iverson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. Larry was raised on the home farm in Red Lake Falls Township by his uncles George, Raymond and August. He attended school in Red Lake Falls, MN. Following his education Larry worked on the family farm. In 1971 he was united in marriage to Alice Jelle at Red Lake Falls, MN. Larry lived his entire life in the Red Lake Falls area working at Arctic Cat, Dee Inc. and American Crystal from which he retired in 2009. Following his retirement Larry worked for area farmers. He enjoyed 4 wheeling putting many miles on every year, snowmobiling and horses. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He also loved to spend time with family and kids. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. He is survived by his children Rose Ann (Larry Jr.) Eckstein of Red Lake Falls, MN; Jerry Johnson of Red Lake Falls, MN and Dennis (Eileen) Johnson of Glyndon, MN: grandchildren Ashley, Courtney, Brandon, Danielle and Hayley Eckstein and great-grandchild Lincoln Derosier. Sisters Sandra (Lee) Hassett of Buxton, ND and Harriet (Gerald) Anderson of Fordville, ND; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Aunts Lillian Barry of Thief River Falls, MN and Lou Ann Weiss of Crookston, MN. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, along with many aunts, uncles and loved ones.
