Lars Sundberg Goodridge, MN formerly of Grygla, MN age 27 died on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN with Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington officiating. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery rural Fourtown, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from Noon until 1:00 PM on Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN. Lars Benjamin Sundberg was born on November 6, 1985 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Wade and Elayne (Holthusen) Sundberg. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church rural Grygla/Fourtown, MN. Lars attended school in Grygla graduating in 2004 and also graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic and Web Design from Bemidji State University. Following high school, Lars worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN and Peterson Lumber in Thief River Falls, MN. While attending BSU, Lars served an internship with Richards Publishing in Gonvick, MN and following graduation from BSU, Lars worked at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls. On April 28, 2012 after 2 ½ years of dating, Lars was united in marriage to Amanda Jesme at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Together they purchased and remodeled an old home in Mavie, MN where they have continued to reside. They also adopted a dog named Rosco from the Humane Society. Lars had an amazing sense of humor; everyone who met him loved him. He was easy going and good to get along with. Lars was very creative, musical and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was an accomplished woodsman; Lars loved hunting, trapping, fishing, mushroom hunting and doing anything outdoors. He was an avid sports fan; Lars was also a talented athlete and loved playing and watching all kinds of sports. He was an accomplished gardener and cook. Lars enjoyed spending time with his buddies and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Even throughout his battle, Lars remained a very positive and calm person, helping his family and friends to stay strong. He had the ability to put his family and friends at ease. Lars was a very selfless, kind, giving and caring man. Survivors include his wife, Amanda of Goodridge, MN; parents, Wade & Elayne Sundberg of Grygla, MN; sisters, Katy (Ryan) Haugen of St. Hilaire, MN, Heidi (Marc) Haugen of St. Hilaire, MN and Rebecca Sundberg of Thief River Falls, MN; grandmother, Ellen Holthusen of Thorholt, MN; niece & God-daughter, Elsa Haugen; nephews, Noah & Gabe Haugen; and many other relatives and friends. Lars is preceded in death by his infant brother, Adam Wade Sundberg; grandparents, Clayton & Esther Sundberg and Vernon Holthusen.
