Laura Mercil, 93, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Monday September 18, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing home in Red Lake Falls. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2000 at 2:00 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday 5 " 8 PM with a 7:30 prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Laura Marie Mercil was born March 18, 1907 daughter of Stephen and Sarah (Page) Patnode at Moxee, Washington. At the age of 15 she moved with her family to Red Lake Falls, MN. On February 22, 1925 she was united in marriage to Theophile Goulet in Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple farmed in the Red Lake Falls area and raised their three children Lawrence, Leo and Lorraine. Theophile passed away July 18, 1964. On December 30, 1968 she was married to Leon Mercil in Red Lake Falls, MN. Laura worked as a cook at Hillcrest Nursing Home for 14 years. Leon passed away September 1, 1990.
Laura was a member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Anns Society, the Senior Citizens, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Guild.
Laura is survived by her son Leo Goulet (Bernice) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughter Lorraine Moran (Clayton) of Thief River Falls, MN; daughter in law Emily Goulet of Auburn, WA; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four step-children and many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren also several nieces and nephews.
Her husbands Theophile Goulet and Leon Mercil, Son Lawrence Goulet and Grandson Joseph Goulet precede her in death.
