Laurence Forrest Larson, 82, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND.
On January 5, 1944, Laurence was born to Forrest and Ruth (Stenseth) Larson in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Laurence’s family returned to Thief River Falls, MN, where Laurence attended school. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls, MN, in 1962. He went to trade school for electronics, before entering the United States Marine Corp. He served in Vietnam from January 19, 1966 to January 18, 1968 and when he was honorably discharged.
On November 23, 1963, Laurence was united in marriage to Barbara Larson. To this union brought four children: Pete, Tammy, Chad, and Casey. They lived in Thief River Falls, MN, as well as the surrounding areas. Laurence worked at Bridgeman’s, starting as a dock worker and moved his way up to Production Manager, until 1991. He started working at Ecolab Inc as a District Sales Manager, until 2006. He then worked part-time at Digikey until full retirement at the age of 72.
Laurence enjoyed riding horses, hunting deer and grouse, riding four wheelers at Beltrami State Park, and camping. He played cards his whole life and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the joy of his life, and he cherished every moment he had with his family. One of his fondest memories was teaching his grandchildren to hunt and enjoy being in the outdoors.
Survived by his children: Pete Larson, Red Lake Falls, MN, Tammy (Chad) Pesch, Thief River Falls, MN, Chad (Tammy) Larson, Red Lake Falls, MN and Casey (Melissa) Larson, Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: Michael (Teagan) Erickson, Shay (Jenna) Erickson, Jaden Kruse, Lacey Larson, Brenden (Micheala) Larson, Cash (Kenady Burris) Larson, Melody Larson, Mason (Ellie Nelson) Larson, Olivia (Tristan Howard) Larson, Haven Larson and great-grandchildren: Jaxson and Noah Kruse, Brooks and Wren Erickson, Elijah and Erza Erickson, and Brooklyn Larson; step grandchildren, Casey(Sara) Pesch, Korey (Cody) Larson, Jayden Comstock, Hunter and Addyson Hemingsen; step great-grandchildren: Kendalyn, Abigail, Charleigh, Callen, Kinsley Pesch, Theodore, Eleanor and Adrian Larson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Forrest Larson and Ruth(Norman) Leader, siblings: Gary (Carol) Larson, twin sister, Ellen (Mark) Langevin, and Robert Leader.
In keeping with Laurence’s wishes, a celebration of life for Laurence will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 11 AM to 2 PM, at St. Hilaire Community Center, St. Hilaire, MN.
Private family burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Though he may no longer be with us, his stories, laughter and memories with his family and friends will always be with us.
