LaVerne Inman Thief River Falls, MN age 92 died peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Karlstad Senior Living in Karlstad, MN. Family services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Sheila Michaels officiating. Burial will be at Holt Cemetery in Holt, MN. LaVerne Ruby Johnson was born on April 5, 1922 in Holt, MN the daughter of Carl and Mabel (Christenson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Holt, MN. She attended school in Holt and graduated from Newfolden High School in the class of 1941. On August 31, 1946, LaVerne was united in marriage to Denny Inman at the Carl Johnson farm. This was a double wedding along with her sister, Marion and Milton Davidson. LaVerne and Denny made their home in Holt until moving to Thief River Falls, MN in 1949. To this union two daughters were born, Lorae and Mary. LaVerne ran a lefse making business out of her home with her aunt, Dolores Dovre for eleven years during the 1950's. She and her sister Marion operated the L & M Coffee Bar for 19 years at the Land-O-Lakes turkey processing plant, retiring in 1984. Denny died in 1982 and LaVerne continued to live in her home until moving in with her daughter Lorae and her husband Denny in 2001. In the fall of 2014, LaVerne moved to the Karlstad Senior Living in Karlstad, MN. LaVerne enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, making lefse, gardening and spending time at Waskish, MN with her family. She was a unique person, was a hard worker, enjoyed having a good time and was extremely close to her family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls, MN since 1950 and was active in the Sarah Circle. Survivors include her loving daughters, Lorae (Denny) Wendlandt of Thief River Falls, MN and Mary (Scott) Emhoff of Burnsville, MN; granddaughter, Fonda (Paul) Kelly; great-grandson, Mark Lillevold all of Moorhead, MN; sisters, Marion Davidson of Holt, MN, Joyce Darragh of Puyallup, WA and Elaine (Leo) Lorentson of Gresham, OR; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Forrest Johnson and Merle (Ellen) Johnson; parents; sisters-in-law, Marge (Rudy) Christenson, Phyllis (Tom) Maijala; brothers-in-law, Milton Davidson, Lon (Lida) Inman and Wendell (Viola) Inman.
