LaVonne "Lovey" Johnson Thief River Falls, MN, formerly of the Strandquist & Karlstad, MN area, age 82, died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN with her loving family at her side. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. LaVonne Ione Wayne was born on December 19, 1930 at Halma, MN the daughter of Louis and Rachel (Hasby) Wayne. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist, MN. She was named "Lovey" at an early age by her sister, a name that she carried throughout her life. On November 5, 1949, Lovey was united in marriage to Carl Melvin Johnson in Strandquist, MN. Lovey worked at Kife's Restaurant in Thief River Falls in her earlier years. She worked in the potato fields for many years, did laundry and cleaning for neighbors and also worked at the J & M Bar in Strandquist. Lovey enjoyed baking buns, music, puzzles, reading and especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include children, Ina Lou Newton, Diane Marie (Ronald) O'Brien, Jeffrey Mervin (Karen) Johnson, Melvin Carl Johnson, Dudley Patrick (Cheri "Babes") Johnson and Julie Ann Nelson; grandchildren, Becky, Sara, Missy, Mali, Jon, Brittany, Matthew, Jenna, Jacob, Donald, Tami, Erick, Jessica, Heather, Jeremiah, Shane, Brian, Ronnie, Dora, Cindy and Larry; great-grandchildren, Dannielle, Branden, Devin, Derrick Dalton, Colten, Katelyn, Kylee, Alex, Natalie, Zoe, Mattie, Lexie, Dustin, Hayden, McKenzie, Kortney, Kayden, Kylie, David, Zayn, Austin, Iris, Jessie, Triston, Hailey, Ethan, Noah, Bella, Eva, Anthony, and Vincent; great-great grandchild, Bryer; brother, Arthur (Sharon) Wayne; and numerous nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; children, Arthur Melvin Johnson, Rachel Lorraine Acosta; an infant daughter; granddaughter, Tiffany; great-granddaughter, Madison; siblings, Bella, Dewey, Bennie, Ernie, Myles, Pearl, Nick, Tilman, Samuel "Bud", Arlene, and Bonnie.
