Lawrence William Gutterud, Of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully  Friday, February 4, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls at the age of 89.

A Memorial service in honor of Lawrence will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Silver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Mark Helgeland officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Cemetery.

Lawrence W Gutterud was born March 15, 1932 in East Valley Township, Marshall County, MN to Oscar and Gladys(Sampson) Gutterud.   Lawrence attended Busy Bee Elementary School with his siblings until he reached 8 ^th grade.  At that time he stopped to help his dad, Oscar, on the farm raising beef cattle, alfalfa and small grains.  Lawrence lived on the family farm until he went to the hospital on Tuesday morning, Jan 18, 2022.

During Lawrence's life, he loved to hunt for duck, geese, and especially deer every year.  He also like to fish and enjoyed ice fishing.  He also loved to spend time with his family when they came to visit and his beloved friends Clifford and Jeanette Reierson.

Lawrence is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, Terry(Paul) Spear, Wane(Paula) Gutterud,  Kelly Gutterud, Sheryl Erickson, Perry (Heidi) Erickson, Gary(Joan) Rosett, Randy(Mary) Rosett, Doug Rosett, Shelly(Alex) Wilson, Scott Baker, Craig Baker, and Darla Baker Brown.  He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and several great- great nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by cousin Louise Cullen and other relatives.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his dad Oscar(1985), his mom Gladys(2001), brothers Elmer(1986), Leonard(1965), and Richard(1983), sisters Marion Erickson(2012), Delores Rosett(2015), and Wilma Baker(2016).  Lawrence was also preceded in death by 2 nieces(Mary Jane Baker, Hope Baker) and 1 nephew(Mark Erickson)
