Obituary

Lawrence Morinville, 79, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at his home near Brooks, MN.

Burial will be 11:30 AM, on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Brooks, MN, everyone welcome.

Visitation will be 4 " 8 PM, Monday, November 13, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, MN with a rosary at 7 PM.

Lawrence Napoleon Morinville was born February 10, 1927 in Gervais Township, the son of William Joseph and Eva Louise (Miller) Morinville. He was baptized February 13, 1927 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN and confirmed September 6, 1936 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Brooks, MN. He attended country school grades 1 " 8 in Poplar River Township and Pershing High School, Plummer, MN, graduating in 1947. He served his country in the United States Navy from September 29, 1944 until July 14, 1946, when he received his honorable discharge. He achieved the rank of Seaman First Class.

On October 6, 1947, Lawrence was united in marriage to Yvonne Elizabeth Mercil at St. Bernards Catholic Church, Thief River Falls, MN. He farmed the home farm his entire life and also worked as a boilerman-engineer at Brooks Cheese Factory for 18 years.

Lawrence was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion of Plummer and John Birch Society. He enjoyed taking brushy, swamp land and turning it into good farmable land.

Lawrence is survived by wife, Yvonne, Brooks, MN; 6 children: Linda (Laurence) Griewing, Coeur dAlene, ID, Barbara (David) Rodahl, Thief River Falls, MN, Sharleen Morinville, Brooks, MN, Valerie (Ross) Bruggeman, Terrebonne, MN, Rodney Morinville, Erskine, MN and Perry (Joyce) Morinville, Brooks, MN; 9 grandchildren: Amanda Rodahl, Michael Rodahl, Shane Morinville, Chassity Morinville, Preston Morinville, Kyle Morinville, Chad Morinville, Christopher Morinville and Jennifer Houtari; 3 great grandchildren: Dahlila Morinville, Thia Morinville and Keira Morinville; sister: Rita McDonald, Brooks, MN; brother: William (Sheila) Morinville, Georgetown, TX and brother-in-law: Russell Sullentrop, St. Louis, MO.

He is preceded in death by parents, brother: Emmitt Morinville; sisters: Verla Asselin, Arabelle Sullentrop, Madonna Walker; sister-in-law: Theresa Morinville; brothers-in-law: Stephen Asselin, James Mc Donald and Austin Walker.
