Lawrence (Whitey) Plante, 62, of Oklee, MN died on Friday, October 09, 1998 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 1998 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Rev. Joe Richards presiding. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM with a 7:30 Wake service on Tuesday, October 13, 1998 at the Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee, MN, and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Lawrence Russell Plante was born on September 28, 1936 in Oklee, MN the son of Samuel and Mable (Boucher) Plante. He was raised in Oklee and attended school there. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Whitey worked for Alvin Jensen Mink Ranch in Oklee and Lois (Jensen) Eck Mink Ranch until retiring in 1997 due to illness.

Whitey enjoyed visits with his friends, riding in the country, listening to country music, and inventing different things to make his work easier.

Survivors include one sister, Gladys of Oklee; brothers, Vern and Clarence of Oklee, Bernard (Pete) of Warroad, Adelore(Dewey) and Stephen of South Milwaukee, WI.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; brother, Leonard in April, 1998; and his grandparents.

Whitey Plante died on Friday, October 9, 1998 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 62 years and 11 days. May his memory be blessed.
