Lee Hanson, age 60, of Plummer, MN, passed away at his home on Monday, March 17, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March, 20, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN, with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 5:30 PM Prayer Service on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the church. Lee Roy Hanson was born July 10, 1953 at the Kenmare Hospital in Kenmare, ND, the son of Harry F. Hanson and Virginia M. (Masters) Hanson. He was baptized on July 1, 1962 and confirmed on May 31, 1967, both in the Lutheran Faith. Growing up, Lee attended many schools in North Dakota. His family moved to Minnesota in 1968 and he graduated from Mentor High School in 1971. On June 28, 1975, Lee and Wanda Wright were united in marriage at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN. Together they made their home near Plummer and raised their children there. Lee worked for Struthers Honey for the last 42 years. During the winter months he also worked for Marvin Engesether at the Plummer Locker Plant. Lee also enjoyed his time as a cattle farmer. Lee enjoyed deer and grouse hunting, raising his cow/calf pairs, fishing at the local rivers, along with spending time at the casinos, going to concerts, and telling stories to the grandkids. Lee is survived by his wife, Wanda of Plummer, MN; children, Stephanie and Theodore Klamm of Plummer, MN, and Michael and Naomi (Schulstad) Hanson of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Wynn, Evelynn, and Willa; mother, Virginia Hanson of Mentor, MN; brothers and sisters, Lester and Cookie Hanson of Lisle, IL, Virginia Anderson of Plymouth, MN, Vivian and Tom Hall of Crookston, MN, and Jerome and Sherri Hanson of Mentor; sister-in-law, Charleen Bekkedahl of Mentor, MN; brothers-in-law, Gary (Wanda) Wright of Oklee, MN, and Mark (Angie) Wright of Plummer, MN; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He is also survived by his best friend, Tippy. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Hanson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Irene Wright; grandparents, Hans and Rachel Hansen and Claude and Malvina Masters, along with several aunts and uncles.
