Obituary

Lee Nelson, 50, died on Friday, November 15, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow at Goodridge Cemetery, Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, November 18, 2002 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with a prayer service held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Lee Alan Nelson was born on August 19, 1952 in Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Richard F. and Marge A. (Vraa) Nelson. He was baptized at Germantown Lutheran Church and confirmed at Goodridge Lutheran Church by Pastor A.B. Heltne. Lee attended school in Goodridge, MN and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1970. He then worked at Arctic Cat.

He was united in marriage to Donna M. Skallet on December 1, 1978 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge by Pastor Gene Broughton. The couple made their home in Grand Plain Township near Goodridge, MN where Lee worked on a dairy and small grain farm.

Lees interests include fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and was a Sunday school teacher. Lee also was a school board member for the Goodridge public school.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Goodridge; eight children, Kari (Jed) McIntosh of Goodridge, Christy Nelson of Ocala, FL, Melanie Nelson of Thief River Falls, Jason Nelson of Moorhead, Peter Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Rachel Nelson, and Timothy Nelson all of Goodridge; two grandchildren, Alexis Berberich and Dylan McIntosh; parents, Richard and Marge Nelson of Goodridge; four brothers, Bruce (Linda) Nelson of McIntosh, MN, Brad (Lana) Nelson of Oklee, MN, Keith Nelson of St. Croix, VA, and Randy (Cherie) Nelson of Ashville, North Carolina; sister, Cheri (Noel) Haake of Crookston, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl Nelson and Evelyn Nelson, and Archie and Cora Vraa; and sister, Deanne Nelson.
