Leland B. Roi, 74, of rural Red Lake Falls, MN died on Friday, April 6, 2001 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Leland Roi was born September 30, 1926 at St. Paul, MN son of William and Rose (Beauchane) Roi. He was raised at Red Lake Falls and attended rural school, graduating from the Northwest School of Agricultural in Crookston in 1944. Leland farmed in the Red Lake Falls area all of his life retiring in 1980. On October 7, 1978 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Swendra at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Leland enjoyed gardening, visiting with his buddies and tinkering around the farm. He liked fishing and spending time at his lake cabin at Washkish, MN. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St. Dorothy Catholic Church at Dorothy, MN and since 1978 has attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Roi of Red Lake Falls, MN; children Kathleen Schmidt of Minneapolis, MN; Mike (Marlys) Swendra of Red Lake Falls, MN; Rick (Shelly) Swendra of Red Lake Falls, MN and Sharon Wold of Thief River Falls, MN. Nine grandchildren Amy Schmidt, Daniel Swendra, Christopher Swendra, Jennifer Wold, Jessica Wold, Nick Swendra, Benjamin Swendra, Matthew Swendra and Stephanie Wold. Godson Jim Benoit of Red Lake Falls, MN.
Leland is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mildred Cassavant.
