Leona Haugen, 85, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Leona May (Hams) Davis Haugen was born on August 19, 1922 in Deerwood Township, Karlstad, MN, the daughter of Walter M. and Laura T. (Anderson) Hams. Leona was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school and received her 8th grade diploma from Karlstad Elementary School in Karlstad.

Leona was united in marriage to Glen F. Davis on December 23, 1943 at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma, MN. She later married Clifford S. Haugen at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson, MN. Leona mostly worked at restaurants in Warren, Karlstad and Thief River Falls. She also worked at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls and later had a daycare in her home.

She enjoyed embroidery and cleaning. She loved music, dancing and playing guitar. Leona was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Thief River Falls.

Leona is survived by one daughter, Shelva Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Brent (Brenda) Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN and Kendra (Michael) Hutton of Manvel, ND; great grandchildren, Kole, Brody, and Morgan Hutton and Brooke, Breiana, Baylie, Britlyn and Braya Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glen Davis in 1959 and Clifford Haugen in 1974; her parents, Walter and Laura Hams; son-in-law, Gary Johnson; and brothers and sister, Milton W. Hams, Jerry W. Hams, and Margaret (Olson) Englund.
