Obituary



Leora Audette, 84, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, December 21, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Arrangements with the Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2000 at 9:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls MN with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service and also Saturday one hour prior to Services all at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Leora Weiss was born June 23, 1916 daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Hendricks) Weiss near Red Lake Falls, MN. She was raised in the area and attended rural School. Her mother passed away at a young age and Leora helped raised her siblings. She was married to Maurice Audette October 22, 1940 in Dorothy, MN. They farmed near Dorothy and in 1951 moved into Red Lake Falls where she has since resided. Leora worked at the St. Johns Hospital in Red Lake Falls for many years retiring in 1979. Arthur passed away in 1972.
She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening and canning. She loved to visit and always enjoyed company, entertaining and playing cards. She was a member of the VFW and Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors, Catholic Daughters, Hillcrest Auxiliary and active in the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the guild.
Leora is survived by her two sons Jim (Mary) Audette of St. Paul, MN and Tim (Monica) Audette of Wyoming, MN: grandchildren Jim, David, Michael, Katie, Melanie, Marc (wife Esin) and Jeff; two great grandchildren Luke and Josh. Brother Willard Weiss (LouAnn) of Crookston, MN; Viola Iverson of Harvey, ND, Izzy Melin (Leonard) of Thief River Falls, MN, Helen Schmitz (Sylvester) of Red Lake Falls, MN, Lillian Berry of Thief River Falls, MN and Marvel Klein (Arthur) of Langdon, ND. One sister-in-law Ellen Wieland also many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Allen, brothers George Weiss, August Weiss, Henry Weiss, Raymond Weiss, Richard Weiss; daughter-in-law Margaret Audette.
