LeRoy Carriere, 77, died on Friday, April 30, 2010 at his home in rural Brooks, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Brooks, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 on Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.


LeRoy Raymond Carriere was born on March 30, 1933 to William Joseph and Doria (Champagne) Carriere in Red Lake County, MN. He attended country school and school in Oklee, MN.

LeRoy was married to Jeannette Hanson and to this union 7 children were born. LeRoy farmed his entire life on the family farm east of Brooks, MN. Other than farming, he worked in Milwaukee in manufacturing, the campaign at American Crystal Sugar in Crookston, and as an electrician on the Iron Range. He semi retired from farming in 1994, but continued his farming interest throughout his retirement years.

LeRoys love has always been the farm, which he has shared with his companion Jan. He enjoyed playing cards, coffee time with friends, and telling stories. Family time was important to LeRoy, and he enjoyed watching the grandkids and great grandkids at their school events. He was a big sports fan, including the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and NBA basketball.

He was preceded in death by one infant son: Kenneth Lee Carriere, parents, 3 sisters: LuVerne Marier, Eleanor Rock, Donna Bruggeman, 1 brother Alfred Carriere.
