LeRoy Gustafson, 84, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at North Valley Health Center, Warren, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, Viking, MN, with Reverend Rena Peterson officiating. Burial will be Viking Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Friday, April 17, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.

LeRoy Ervin Gustafson was born February 7, 1925 in Viking Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Emil Henry and Andrina Bertina (Urdahl) Gustafson. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Viking.

On November 28, 1959, LeRoy was united in marriage to Edna Eggen at Konjsvinger Lutheran Church, Oslo, MN. He attended District 38 elementary school. LeRoy farmed all of his life on the family farm. He had a dairy and cattle.

He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Viking, MN, and served on the church board several years. He also served as township treasurer for 24 years. He liked reading and reciting poetry. He had a strong faith. He also liked growing a large vegetable garden.

He is survived by one sister, Lillian Lund, Minneapolis, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Edna in 2003, his parents, brothers, Marvin in 1986 and Bertil, January 3, 1945 in Bulge, Belgium, and one sister Mildred Anderson in 1999.
