LeRoy J. Sabourin, 72, of Brooks, MN died on Friday October 15, 2010 at Pioneer memorial Care Center in Erskine.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks with Father Chuck Huck officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Brooks.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks and also one hour prior to services a the Church on Wednesday.

LeRoy J. Sabourin was born August 11, 1938 in Brooks MN son of the late James and Mabel (LeRoux) Sabourin. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks. He attended Plummer High School and graduated in 1956. He entered the US Navy in January of 1959 and served until he was honorably discharged in January of 1963.

Following his discharge he lived in Milwaukee, WI for a short time. On June 5, 1971 LeRoy married SueAnn Vande Plasch. They were married for a short time. He moved to Hibbing, MN where he worked in food service for the public schools for 10 years. He purchased the Cozy Bar in Brooks in 1983 and also owned and operated the Village Inn in Hibbing from 1985 until 1988, after selling the Village Inn in Hibbing, LeRoy moved back to Brooks and was involved in the Cozy until his retirement in 2000.

LeRoy enjoyed playing cards and the time spent with his card buddies, was a sports fan and liked to play pool. He was involved in weekly football picks and loved his dogs Sunny and Daisy.

LeRoy is survived by his sister, Rose Marie Jolly of Brooks, MN; niece and nephews Mark (Peggy) Genereux of Warroad, MN, Peggy (Tim) Hoefer of Red Lake Falls, MN; Allan (Kristie) Genereux of Bemidji, MN and Dale Genereux of Cleveland, TN, along with several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two infant sisters.
