LeRoy Torkelson, Plummer, MN, died Monday June 27, 2016 at his daughter's residence in Nowthen, MN.

Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN.  Burial will be at Emardville Cemetery, Plummer.

Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM at the church Saturday.

LeRoy Orendale Torkelson was born May 6, 1945 at home in Equality Township, Red Lake County, MN son of Carl and Mabel (Christianson) Torkelson Sr. He attended school in Trail and finished his schooling in Plummer. On September 26, 1964 LeRoy married Carol Seibel at Plummer, MN. The couple made their first home in South Milwaukee where LeRoy worked at a meat processing plant. While there Brenda was born. Soon after that they returned to Plummer where Gary was born. LeRoy remained in the Plummer area the rest of his life. He traveled for work but his home was always Northern Minnesota. LeRoy worked many places throughout his life several road and home construction companies throughout the USA.

LeRoy enjoyed many things, his main interest were guns, hunting and nature. He was a past member of the Plummer Fire Department.

LeRoy is survived by his children Brenda (special friend Jerry) Torkelson of Nowthen, MN and Gary (Robin) Torkelson of Manhattan, IL; grandchildren Karl (AmyJo) Torkelson of St. Francis, MN, Ashley (Chris) Warren of Coon Rapids, MN, Kristin (fiancé Shane Quigley) Clark of Ramsey, MN, Madeline Torkelson attending U of M, Caroline Torkelson of Manhattan, IL and Garrett Torkelson of Manhattan, IL;  great-grandchildren Nathan, Alexis, Ashtion, Dezirae, Jaydin, Lacii, Aubriella, Evelynn, Kylie, Kameliah; siblings Arlean (Gary) Anderson of Plummer, MN, Carla (Ralph) Landman of Red Lake Falls, MN, Dianne (Jesse) Casavan of Red Lake Falls, MN, Carl (special friend Diane) Torkelson Jr. of Plummer, MN, Dean Torkelson of Plummer, MN, Dennis (Angie) Torkelson of Bagley, MN and brother-in-law Donald Longtin of Plummer, MN along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mabel Torkelson Sr., siblings Alton Torkelson, Gerald Torkelson, Karen Longtin, and Larry Torkelson; sister-in-law Susan Torkelson, nephews Mark Anderson and Wade Longtin.
