Lester Brown was born on June 6, 1925 in Poplar River Township, Red Lake County, Minnesota, the son of Chris and Mary (Stahl) Brown, where he was raised and attended county school District #14 near Brooks, MN. He never married and lived on the farm with his parents, two miles south of Brooks. On June 22, 1977 his father died, he and his mother then sold the farm and purchased a home in Oklee where they lived until his mother died on July 4, 1986. Lester then moved to the housing apartments in Oklee for several years. On March 20, 1998 he went into First Care Nursing Home in Fosston, MN.

He enjoyed movies, hunting, fishing and driving around. Lester was a great man and we are all better people for knowing him.

Lester is survived by brothers, Ernest and his wife, Alice of Holcombe, WI, Leon and wife, Carol of Arkdale, WI; sisters Esther Mysliwy of South Milwaukee, WI, Bernice Hagge of South Milwaukee, WI and Ethel Paquin of Oklee; sister-in-Law, Helen of South Milwaukee, WI. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Alice Bergeron, brothers Earl, Bill and Harold, 4 brothers-in-law, 1 nephew, all grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
