Obituary

Lida Inman, 89, died on Tuesday,June 10, 2008 at Woodwinds Health Center in Woodbury, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN with Rev. Nancy Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Holt Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2008 with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 PM until time of services on Saturday at the church.

Lida Corrine Monson, born June 18, 1918 on her parents farm in Excel Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Ludwig and Christine (Reierson) Monson. She was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Holt, MN. She attended school in Holt for eleven years and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1936.

On September 15, 1940, Lida was united in marriage to Alonzo Inman.

Lida was a stay at home mother who kept very busy raising six children, always raised a garden and canned many quarts of vegetables for her family. She also enjoyed picking wild berries and preserving them. Lida had a very special talent for flower gardening and oil painting.

Lida enjoyed visiting, (she could out talk anyone) playing cards, dancing and going for buggy or sleigh rides with Lon and Joy. Her church and family were very important to her. She enjoyed watching her own children as well as her grandchildren when they participated in school and church events.

Lida was active in church, she was a member of the Esther Circle, taught Sunday School, was a 4-H leader and was a member of the local homemakers group.

Lida and Lon spent their entire married life living in the Holt area. Lon Inman passed away on December 11, 1990, she continued to live in their rural farm home for several years until her health started to fail and she went to live with her daughter Joy in Warroad for several years before moving first to Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls and later to the Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury, MN.

Lida is survived by six children: Larry (Shirley) Inman, Middle River, MN, Richard Inman, Rosemount, MN, David (Peggy) Inman, Lilburn, GA, Christie (Stuart) Anton, Woodbury, MN, Lana Inman, North St. Paul, MN and Joy Inman, Warroad. Thirteen grandchildren: Tami Inman, Thief River Falls, MN, Ron (Paula) Inman, Blaine, MN, Wendy (Aaron) Baldwin, Middle River, MN, Kim (Kyle) Nelson, Oklee, MN, Andrea (Tracey) Rodgers, Dallas, TX, Brent Inman, Rosemount, MN, Theresa (Ron) Stutzman, Fort Campbell, KY, Kelly Inman, Lilburn, GA, Cassie (Garrett) Wilson, Savannah, GA, Tracy Anton, Hammond, WI, Jason (Melissa) Anton, Richmond, WI, Nichole Hawkins, Woodbury, MN and Amanda Inman, North St. Paul, MN, fifteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Gerinda Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN, several sister-in-laws, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Lida was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo, parents, sister Helen Garthus, infant brother, Edward Monson, and one infant grandson.
