Lillian Lorraine (Nelson) Klockman, the daughter of Oscar and Annie (Lubitz) Nelson was born September 26, 1930 at 3:30 AM in Grand Plain Township, Marshall County, MN, near Germantown. She was baptized at home on October 26, 1930 by Pastor Alfred Mock and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on September 10, 1944 in Mavie, MN by Pastor Janzow. Lily attended the Germantown School in her elementary years and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. On September 5, 1948 Lily was united in marriage to Ralph Klockman at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. The couple lived in Colby, Kansas and Milwaukee, Wisconsin before moving back to the Thief River Falls area. In 1950 they purchased a farm in Silverton Township; farming and raising their family. They continued to reside there until 2001. In 2003 Ralph passed away and Lily moved to the Skylite apartments. Later she moved to Valley Home and recently resided at Lilac Homes in Moorhead. Lily really enjoyed people which made working at various retail stores including Ekeren Drug, the Klothes Kloset, and Hall's Floral perfect for her. Growing up on the farm Lily enjoyed playing softball or "kitten ball" with her sisters. Later in life she liked to attend her grandchildren's activities and sporting events, rarely missing any. Lily loved music and enjoyed playing the accordion, piano, and organ. When she was young, Lily sold the calf she had raised in order to take piano lessons, a talent she possessed the rest of her life. Her children feel very fortunate to have had music fill their home while growing up. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very important to her. Lillian is survived by her children, Debi (Rick) Stenseth of Moorhead, MN, Val (Wayne) Schmaltz of West Fargo, ND, and Kevin (Dena) Klockman of Ogallala, NE; grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Stenseth, Kim (Mike) Blythe, Jill Williams, Ashley Stenseth and her fiancé Dustin Arlt, Janet (Mark) Ladwig, Paul (Katie) Beverley, Alexis (Nick) Nelson, Shane Klockman, and Darian Klockman; great-grandchilden, Kasey and Blake Stenseth, Ayana and Jace Blythe, Blake, Kumari, Hunter and Sophia Arlt, Oliver Rogalski, Holden Ladwig, Elijah Nelson, and Kamryn Klockman; sisters, Violet Weigel and Fern Liden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; grandson, Cory Stenseth; parents, Oscar and Annie Nelson; brothers and sisters Alfred, Curdis, Gladys, Elmer, Isabella, Helen, and Alice.
