Lillian Eleanor Benson was born December 5, 1919 in Darmody, Sask., Canada, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Savage) Benson. She attended rural Country School. On April 18, 1037 Lillian was united in marriage to Gilbert Langie in Oklee, MN. The couple farmed and raised their children near Oklee.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing cards, sewing and working with her flowers.
Lillian was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Salem Ladies Aid.
Lillian is survived by two daughters: Betty (Galen) Horswill of Red Lake Falls, MN and Audrey (Mel) Grove of Deer Creek, MN; six grandchildren: Dale, Dawn, Joseph, Jerry, Mark and Tony; seven great grandchildren: Derek, Jordan, Jolene, Jayden, Megan, Joseph and Samuel; one sister, Mary (Ralph) Newberg of Coon Rapids, MN; one brother, Richard (Lillian) Ryan of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law, Thelmer Langie of Petaluma, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert on April 12, 1995; her parents; and one sister, Myrtle Sammut.
