Lily Cantwell passed away June 20, 2013 at the age of 95 years, 2 months, and 6 days at Essentia Hospital in Fosston, MN. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN, with Pastor Margaret Jacobus officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Oklee, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service, Oklee, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday. Lily Christianson was born April 14, 1918 in Trail, MN to Henry and Julia Christianson, one of eighteen children. She married Milo Cantwell of rural Oklee on Oct. 15, 1939. They had four children: Duane, Barbara, Mary Lou, and Linda Lou (deceased). Lily was the Oklee cook working at all cafés in Oklee for many years. She enjoyed the job and retired at age 86. Lily was a lifetime member of Salem Church and a member of the Ladie's Aid. Lily was preceded in death by her husband Milo in 1984; daughter Linda Lou in 1950; son Duane in 1988; brothers: Herbert, Joe, Selmer, Gilbert and George; sisters: Johanna, Annie, Delyla, and Bernice; and her grandson Benji Rindahl. Lily is survived by daughters: Barbara (Robert) Solien, Mary Lou (Steve) Schmidt; daughter-in-law: Donna Cantwell; grandchildren: Kyle (Jodi) Cantwell, Cheryl Drangstveit, Jacqueline (Chet) Edinger, Shelly (Dan) Wittenberg, Chris (Karen) Solien, Debbie (Gerald) Larson, Rhonda (Kim) Vettleson, Lisa (Dan) Staudinger, Michele (Brandon) Cottrell, Richard Rindahl, Tara Schmidt, and Lindsi (Ben) Shanahan; great-grandchildren: Megan, Tanner, Molly, and Taylor Grove, Cole, Cameron, and Connor Wittenberg, Grace, Lily, and Henry Solien, Derrick, Brenden, Dana, and Zachery Larson, Ana (Andrew) Bramer, Josh, and Casey Vettleson, Cade, Abby, and Claire Staudinger, Alexis, Paige, and Jordan Cottrell, Samantha Dahl, Conner and Kieran Shanahan; great-great-grandchildren: Aubree and Teague Larson, Benji, Alex and Aaliyah Bramer; sisters: Hazel Rystad, Eunice Reinbold, and Lorraine Cote; brothers: Orvin, Lawrence and Clarence Christianson; and sisters-in-law Irene, Eleanor, and Cecelia Christianson.
