Linda Hofstad, 63, of Trail, MN died on Friday, June 17, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Oak Park Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN with Rev. Joseph Abrahamson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church.

Linda Poppenhagen was born on April 24, 1948 in Moylan Township, near Ditch 20, Goodridge, MN the daughter of Earl Phinnie and Pearl (Lamporter) Poppenhagen. She was baptized in 1957 in the Red Lake River in Thief River Falls and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in 1968.

Linda attended Goodridge Elementary School, Northrup Elementary in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1966. She also attended the AVTI in Thief River Falls graduating in 1968.

On September 30, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Glenn Hofstad at the Assembly of God Church in Thief River Falls. To this union three children were born, Arlan, Jared & Robert. They have made their home in Deer Park Township, Pennington County, MN.

For the past 26 years, Linda has worked at Digi-Key Corporation in Thief River Falls, MN in various positions including Team Leader in Accounts Receivable.

She was a member of Oak Park Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, MN, and served various positions in the Ladies Aide Group, and has taught Sunday school throughout the years.

Linda enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing, music and music events, church, sewing, hair trimming, and gardening. Above all, she enjoyed her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Glenn Hofstad of Trail, MN; 3 sons: Arlan Hofstad of Trail, MN, Jared (Jessica) Hofstad of Oklee, MN and Robert (Stacie) Hofstad of Bozeman, MT; 8 grandchildren: Orin, Leif & Nikolena Hofstad of Oklee, MN, Olivia, Sofia, Steven, Gloria & Philip Hofstad of Bozeman, MT; brothers and sister: Louis Poppenhagen of El Cajon, CA, James (Marjorie) Poppenhagen of Princeton, MN, Faith (Isaac) Martinez of Princeton, MN and Ronald (Sheryl) Poppenhagen of Gillette, WY; and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Earl Phinnie and Pearl Poppenhagen; brothers: Earl, Glen, and infant Leroy.
