Linda C. Olson, 57, died on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.

Linda Carol Olson was born on November 8, 1952 to Clarence & Clara (Timm) Olson in Thief River Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She attended Northrup Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970. Her lifelong dream was to become a nurse and when she was a teenager she worked as a candy striper. She completed her LPN training at Hibbing Community College. She then received her RN from Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN. She also received her BSN from the University of North Dakota. She worked as a nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls, St. Josephs Hospital, Denver, CO, and Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Linda had a love of music. She played the clarinet and piano. Her passion was her nieces and nephews. She treasured the time she spent with them, and they were like her own children. Animals brought Linda joy and she loved her cats Whiskers, Max, Ember and Elsie. She liked to crochet, quilt, and knit. Reading was a favorite pastime. She grew her own garden and canned her garden special of peppers, onions, and tomatoes. She made jams and jellies from her homegrown raspberries. She liked to challenge her family in a game of Royal Rummy.

Linda is survived by her mother Clara Olson, Thief River Falls, MN, siblings: John (Delores) Olson, Thief River Falls, MN, Clarice Olson, St. Paul, MN, Chuck (Pam) Olson, Grand Forks, ND, Helen (Rory) Anderson, Thief River Falls, MN, Marlene (Bob) Hjeldness, East Grand Forks, MN, Bill (Julie) Olson, Thief River Falls, MN, nieces and nephews: John Olson Jr, Jim Olson, Courtney Bassil, Josh Torgerson, Keith Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Chris Olson, Callie Wagner, Robin Olson, Robby Anderson, Katie Olson, Matt Olson, Brandon Olson, April Hjeldness, Ruthie Hjeldness and Michael Hjeldness, grand nieces and nephews: Olivia Torgerson, Nolan Torgerson, Rilyn Wagner, Cooper, Marley, and Spencer Anderson, Bryson Olson, and Logan Anderson. She is also survived by several cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Clarence Olson, brother Bob Olson, nephew Patrick Olson and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
