Lloyd Hogie Hogenson, 78, died Sunday, August 08, 2004 at CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 12, 2004 " 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor John Wollenzien, officiating. Burial will be in Park Ridge Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls and Thursday one hour prior to service in the church.

Lloyd Arnold Hogenson was born July 25, 1926 at Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Edward and Bella (Klemetson) Hogenson. He was the second person to be baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and was confirmed there as well. He grew up and attended Rosebud School and Lincoln High School until the 9th grade. At the time WW II brokeout, Hogies father became ill, so he stayed home to take care of his family and their farm. He was a Volunteer Fireman in Thief River Falls for 10 years.

On June 29, 1948, Hogie was united in marriage to Gladys King., daughter of John Joseph and Ella (Husby) King. He worked most of his life at John Deere in Thief River Falls and in Grand Forks, ND.

Hogie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as Church President, was in charge of the lutefisk supper for 12 years, he was President of the Trinity Mens Breakfast and was also a member of the Golden Pioneers, Deer Hunters Association and board member for many years. He served on the Nordin Township Board for many years. He was a member of the Eagles and served on the board. Hogie loved playing cards at the fire station, watching deer, tinkering around the farm, fishing at Washkish, hunting near home and at Fourtown and taking pictures.

He was blessed with a large caring family, great friends and cherished memories.

Survived by wife, Gladys, Thief River Falls, MN; his children, Mike, Waskish, MN, Marshelle (Ray) Benson, Grygla, MN, Mary (Russ) Olson, Minneapolis, MN, Marc, Grand Forks, ND, Marty (Linda), Thief River Falls, MN, Myles (Camille), Roosevelt, MN and Murray (special friend, Kristi Rood), Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Steve (special friend, Peg Johnson), Dawn (special friend, Brandon Blaine), Scott Hogenson, Jamie (Rick) Schmidt, Kristi (Matt) Suchoski, Eric Benson, Laura and Matthew Olson, Dusty and Heidi Hogenson, Nick and Jacki Hogenson, Jamie and Tyler and Anthony; great grandchildren Zachary Hogenson, Anna and Johnathon Schmidt, Sara and Clayton Suchoski; sister, Eldora Alby, Fon Du Lac, WI and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Mylan and Ernest Hogenson; sisters Gladys Peterson and Hermina Kopp.
