Lloyd Tanem of Goodridge, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Valley Regional Medical Center, near Los Fresnos, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN. Burial will take place at the Czech National Cemetery, Goodridge, MN. Fellowship and luncheon to follow the funeral service.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN.

Lloyd Edward Tanem was born March 26, 1933, in Beltrami County, MN, the son of John and Lillian (Hruby) Tanem. He was baptized and confirmed at Goodridge, MN. He was a Goodridge High School graduate - class of 1951.

On October 25, 1952, Lloyd was united in marriage to Arlene Harriet Hanson at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage, Thief River Falls, MN.

He was employed at the Soo Line Railroad and Northern Chevrolet of Thief River Falls. For 26 years he was the catalog and department store manager for Sears, he worked for 8 ½ years at Tiffany Realty selling new construction for Keyland Homes.

Lloyd enjoyed camping, traveling the country in his motorhome, and spending time with family. He held membership in the J.C.S and UCT.

Lloyd is survived by wife, Arlene; children: Gregory (Paulette) Tanem, Debra Bakken and Pamela (Cory) Kohlhoff; grandchildren: Jason (Jess) Tanem, Amy Tanem, Anthony Tanem, Brandon (Jessica) Bakken, Christle Stolpman and Shannon Gonzagowski; great-grandchildren: Hailey Tanem, Cali Stolpman, Noah and Jameson Bakken; and brother, Darwin (Pauline).

Preceding him in death are his grandparents; his parents, John and Lillian Tanem; sister, Josette Tanem; grandson, Joshua Bakken.
