Lois Weiss, of Viking, MN, passed away on June 9, 2020 at the North Star Manor in Warren, MN, at the age of 85.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking, MN, with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating.  Burial will follow at the Viking Cemetery, rural Viking, MN.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, following all of the Minnesota and CDC covid-19 guidelines.

Lois Jean Krohn was born January 12, 1935 in Warren, MN the daughter of Carl and Johanna (Jensen) Krohn. She attended Newfolden Community School and graduated with the class of 1953.

Lois married Frank John Mead in 1954. Lois and Frank lived and raised their family near the Twin Cities. They lived in Rosemount, MN, until around 1965. Then moved to their rural home near Shakopee, MN, where they lived until 1974. Lois later met and married Leroy Weiss in 1975. Lois and Lee enjoyed spending the summers at their lake cabin near Brainerd, MN, and their winters in Arizona. After Lee passed away, Lois eventually moved to Arizona permanently. There she met George O'Day. Lois and George lived in Yuma, AZ. They enjoyed spending the hot summers in the mountains near Show Low, AZ, where they met many friends.

She worked at Greif Brothers in Rosemount, MN, Data 100 in Eden Prairie, MN, Kavoris and she also taught sewing classes and ceramic classes in her home.

Lois enjoyed sewing, quilting, machine embroidery, puzzles, card games, silversmithing and knitting.

Survivors include her children, Kathryn Mead of Duluth, MN, Lorna (John) Vooge of Champlin, MN, Julie (Larry) Leaks of Brooklyn Center, MN and John Mead of Viking, MN; grandchildren, Shauna (Shannon) Stroud, Brandon Waite, Dee Mead, Jennifer Kenfield, Jessica Kenfield, Jacob Kenfield, Jalisa Leaks, Charlene Leaks and Cassondra Leaks; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Salem, Kaidon, Delaisha, Kaira, Aliyah, Damion, Lilianna and Jacoby; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Weiss; sister, Janice Noreen and brother, Duane Krohn.
