Loren "Lonnie" Stigen St. Hilaire, MN, age 55, died peacefully on Wednesday December 10, 2014 at his home in St. Hilaire, MN with his family at his side. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Funeral service at 7:00PM officiated by Steve Dahlen on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Loren Dean Stigen was born on August 9, 1959 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Ernest and Cora (Hasby) Stigen. He was baptized on October 18, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN and confirmed on June 2, 1974 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Lonnie attended Knox Elementary, Franklin Middle and Lincoln High Schools in Thief River Falls, MN. In high school, Lonnie worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken. After high school he went to work at Les's Sanitation and later became a knife sharpener and supervisor at Northern Pride in Thief River Falls where Lonnie worked for many years. In 1992, Lonnie went to work for Ralph Wilde Construction and in 1993 started working at Homark in Red Lake Falls where he worked for several years. While working at Homark, Lonnie also worked at the VFW Post 2793 in Thief River Falls, this is where he met his life-partner, Lynnae Toren. Lonnie was married to Debra Sorenson and to this union two children were born, Crystal and Kyle. Debra's son, Corey was welcomed and loved by Lonnie. He enjoyed deer hunting with his friends, Dan, James, Wyatt and Abbie at deer camp near Grygla, MN. Lonnie also enjoyed gardening with Lynnae, cooking, barbecuing, fishing and socializing with his friends, and spending time with his companion, Harley. Lonnie was always willing to help anyone out. Survivors include his life-partner, Lynnae Toren of St. Hilaire, MN; children, Corey (Kristi) Sorenson, Crystal Stigen and Kyle (Shandra) Stigen; grandchildren, Zachary, Aaron, Skylar, Damien, Railee; siblings, Kathy (Gary) Chapin, Jeff (LaVon) Lannoye, Greg Stigen, Laurie (Len) Tweet, Gwen (Kevin Beaulieu) Stigen, Cherie (Kurt) Leader; sister-in-law, Rita (Bob) Snell; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gordy Hasby, Nicholas Lannoye, Sue Axtel, Cliff Stigen; grandparents, Emilie and Theodore Stigen, Martha and Henry Hasby.
