Lorenzo Eck, 76, of Trail, MN died on Friday, November 17, 2000 at Fosston First Care Hospital in Fosston, MN. Arrangements with the Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2000 at 10:30 AM at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail, MN with Reverend Robert Rains Officiating. Burial will be held in the Sand Valley Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 " 7 PM with a 7:00 Prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Oklee and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Lorenzo Byron Eck was born August 2, 1924 in Trail, MN oldest of five children born to Leonard and Freda (Lee) Eck where he was raised and attended school. He entered the US Army serving stateside in 1946 and 1947. Following his honorable discharge he worked on ranches in Montana for a time. In 1956 he was united in marriage to Opal Qualey. Lorenzo worked for minntac Mining Company and US Steel at Mountain Iron, MN until his retirement in December of 1983. In 1973 he was married to Idella Vennes in South Dakota. Following his retirement in 1983 they returned to Trail, MN where he has resided on his family farm since. Idella passed away in 1994.
Lorenzo loved animals especially horses, winning numerous trophies from horse shows and since he was a young man enjoyed breaking horses.
He is survived by his children Gregory (Connie) Eck of Trail, MN, Linda (James) Fournier of Peoria, AZ, Michael (Chris) Eck of Elgin, MN and James Eck of Duluth, MN: grandchildren Chad and Jessica Nordland, Timothy and Nikki Buck, Ashley and Elisa Eck: extended family David and Shirley Anderson, Erik Anderson, Craig Anderson, of Trail, MN, Tammie (Jeff) Christian, Hunter Christian, Nichlas Christian, of Stillwater, MN, Beverly Anderson, Kristin Lieder of Brainerd, MN. Sisters Donna Watne of Gonvick, MN, Delores (Don) Strommen of Crookston, MN and Lois Peterson of McIntosh, MN. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorenzo is preceded in death by wife Opal and wife Idella. Brother Ronald Eck and his parents Leonard and Freda Eck.
