Lorraine Morben 87, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013, with her loving family by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Visitation will be held Monday, October 14, 2013 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, with a 7:00pm prayer service at the Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Lorraine Gertrude (Fritzinger) Morben was born on April 29, 1926 in Warroad, MN, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Marshall) Fritzinger. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on March 26, 1934. Lorraine was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and later confirmed into the Catholic faith. She attended school in Williams, MN, graduating from Williams High School in 1944. In June of 1944 Lorraine started work for Northwest Bell in Warroad. She was transferred to Seattle to work for Pacific Bell for five months in 1945, returning to Northwest Bell in Thief River Falls in January of 1946. On October 21, 1946 Lorraine and Ernest C. Morben were united in marriage in San Diego, CA, returning to make their home in Thief River Falls. The couple and their family moved to Kenmare, ND, in 1958 and returned to Thief River Falls in 1966 where they resided since. Lorraine was an active life member of VFW Auxiliary Post 2793 where she held every office and was 9th District President in 1976. She was a member of the Cooties, American Legion Auxiliary, BPO Does, St. Bernard's Guild (quilting), and the bowling league since the early 1950's, retiring in 2002. Lorraine enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, attending the TRF Concert Series, but most of all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. Lorraine is survived by her children, Carol (Don) Gustafson of Thief River Falls, Jerry (Julie) Morben of Bismarck, ND, and Susan (Joe) Philipp of Goodridge; grandchildren, Nicole (Dean) Woodman, Jason (Julie) Boughton, Kristen (Kevin) Lund, Kara (Christopher) Schuster, Brad (Kylee) Philipp, Brent (Crystelle) Philipp, Sally (Duke) Wolff, Robin (Chris) Allmaras, and Stacey Hiles; step-grandchildren, Julie Gustafson, Guy (Miranda) Gustafson, Wendy Gustafson, and Tami (Jim) Duckstad; 21 great-grandchildren, Ben and MaKenzie Woodman, Kayla (Brad) Scapanski, Tracy and Cole Boughton, Jaxson and Macey Lund, Gavin, Wade, Carson, and Evelyn Schuster, Shianne, Riley, and Carlye Philipp, Elliot and Norah Philipp, Bryan Morben, Zachery and Jacob Boor, Caiden Allmaras, and Kaitlyn Hiles; step great-grandchildren, Amber (Ben) Kvasager, Derek Suronen, Adam and Isaac Gustafson, Danielle, Zackery, and Jeremy Duckstad, Austin Przybylski; great great-grandchildren, Addie and Mylee Scapanski; step great great-grandchildren, Lauren, Graceyn, and Brinley; sisters-in-law, Shirley Fritzinger of Forest Lake, MN, and Arlene Hove of Gig Harbor, WA; brother-in-law, Tom (Connie) Morben of Lakeville, CO; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death is her husband, Ernest on September 16, 1994; son, Duane on June 11, 1979, her parents, and her brother, Walter Fritzinger Jr.
