Lottie Moen, 89, died Monday, October 4, 2004 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Red Lake Falls, MN.
Lottie May McMahon was born April 11, 1915, at Martin, ND, the daughter of Peter and Charlotte (Hein) McMahon. The family moved to Anamoose, ND when Lottie was five years old. She grew up and graduated from Anamoose High School in 1933.
Lottie was married to Palmer Syverson for 21 years. They lived in Northern Minnesota and later moved to Harvey, ND.
On June 2, 1958, Lottie was united in marriage to Russell Moen in Grand Forks, ND. The couple lived most of their lives in Thief River Falls, MN. She worked at Jungs Bakery for about 10 years and the Third Street Caf. They owned and operated The Mint and Russells Bar. Lottie and Russell were married for 43 years. Russell died on August 12, 2001.
Lottie was an avid cook and baker and was known for her baking and cooking skills. She did some gardening. When she was younger she loved playing Bingo. Mostly, she enjoyed her family and entertaining company.
Survived by sister, Clara Birchard, Glendale, AZ; 2 special great nieces, Karen Rock, Mentor, MN and Kathy LeMoine, Thief River Falls, MN; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband, Russell; parents; and 9 brothers, Hilton, Hilbert, Verner, Peter, Rutherford, Lionel, Leon Harvey, and Martin McMahon.
