Louis Lallier, 71, of Plummer, MN died peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2016 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Bob Schreiner presiding. Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Plummer, MN.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Thursday at church.
Louis Andrew Lallier was born on August 5, 1945 in Red Lake Falls, MN the son of Albert and Mae (Perrault) Lallier and grew up on the family farm in Terrebonne Township, Red Lake County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne, MN. Louis attended school in Red Lake Falls, MN.
On September 2, 1972, Louis took Madonna Mae Schumacher's hand in marriage at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Plummer, MN. To this union six children were born: AnnaMae, Joseph, Andrew, Matthew, Sylvia and James. They made their home on the Schumacher Home Farm in Emardville Township, Red Lake County, MN.
In his early years, Louis farmed on the Lallier Family Farm, worked at Detroiter in Red Lake Falls, Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, and worked at the Plummer Co-op Creamery for his remaining able working years.
Louis was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Plummer until its closing and was currently a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN. He volunteered with the Plummer Fire Department and was caretaker of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. He also enjoyed pig & turkey roasting for various community events.
Louis loved to visit with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, like to laugh and wasn't afraid to share his opinion...a character trait he passed along to all of his children and grandkids. He also enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, riding his golf cart and 4-wheeler; and especially enjoyed running and attending sporting events with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by five children: AnnaMae (Anders) Christensen, Plummer, MN, Andrew Lallier, Red Lake Falls, MN, Matthew (Amanda) Lallier, Kramer, ND, Sylvia (Greg) Majeres, Plummer, MN, James Lallier, St. Hilaire, MN, grandchildren: Timothy, Marcus and Sarah Christensen, Shayla and Zadin Lallier, Julia, Mason, Penelope and Aubree Lallier, Shawna, Ethan, Vanessa and Nickolas Majeres, brother: Martin (Pat) Lallier, AZ, sister: Irene (William) Tounsend, AL, sisters-in-law: Carolyn (George) Pittman, Goodridge, MN and Susan (Steve) Sundberg, Grygla, MN, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Madonna on October 4, 2012, son: Joseph on October 10, 1994, grandson: Christopher Majeres in 2003, and his parents.
