Obituary

Louisa Haugen, 87, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2003 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Mark Helgeland officiating. Burial will follow in Clearwater Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, July 4, 2003 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Louisa Geneva Maria Lennie was born July 4, 1915 in Bidwell, Iowa, the daughter of Louie and Florence (Norman) Lennie. She was baptized as an adult in the Lutheran Faith and attended Elementary School and Middle School in Albia, Dallas and Melcher, Iowa.

On July 8, 1930, Louisa was united in marriage to G. Christian Haugen in Randall, Iowa.

She worked at several restaurants in Thief River Falls, including the Palm Garden, Pennington Hotel Coffee Shop, Soo Caf, Rex Cafe and Kifes. She also worked at the S & L Store, Sunflower Plant, Valley Home and Sunflower Valley Products.

Louisa enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, bowling and loved spending time with her family.

Louisa is survived by five children: Christian D. Haugen and wife Mary Lu, Eureka, SD, Richard Haugen and wife Janice, Thief River Falls, MN, Beverly Gustafson and husband Tom, Thief River Falls, MN, Mark Haugen and wife Holly, Thief River Falls, MN and James Haugen and wife Penny, Thief River Falls, MN; 17 grandchildren: Deborah, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Alicia, Marci, Vicki, Kathi, Cory, David, Kristi, Scott, Lori, Michelle, Kimberly, Jennifer, Amy and Angela; 37 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Jessie Seiling, Rose Ellen and Susan all Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband; daughter, Diane; parents; sisters, Hazel, Peggy, Margeurite, Wanda and Mary; brothers, Louis, Arthur, Ralph, LeRoy and Carl Lennie and numerous nieces and nephews.
