Louise A. Duquette was born on December 14, 1920 in Drayton, North Dakota, the daughter of Ernest and Dellina (Chounard) Duquette. She attended Country School in Drayton. She helped area farmers in her young years, shocking corn and harvesting. Louise moved to Grand Forks in 1947, where she worked for Eddys Bakery and Blacks Bakery. She also worked at the Northern Hotel and the Dakota Hotel as a Chamber Maid and Housekeeper. In 1956 Louise moved to Plummer, where she helped care for her family members. She moved to Thief River Falls in 1979.

Louise loved to sew her own clothes, make quilts, crochet, needlework and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She especially loved to raise ducks, every year on the farm

She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church.

Louise is survived by four brothers and sisters: Edward Duquette of Bemidji, MN, Paul (Violet) Duquette of Park Rapids, MN, George (Geraldine) Duquette of Thief River Falls, MN and Cecelia (Norbert) Vanyo of East Grand Forks, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Elizabeth, Helen, Marion and Delphine; and one sister-in-law, Carol.
