Lowell Hoffard, 56, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN following a long illness.

Lowell William Hoffard was born December 17, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Leonard Troy and Ruby A. (Casselman) Burnett. He was adopted July 28, 1955, by Harold and Norma (Feken) Hoffard. He was baptized August 9, 1948, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, McIntosh, MN and was confirmed there as well. He grew up and attended McIntosh Elementary School and graduated McIntosh High School in 1966.

Lowell served his country by serving in the United States Air Force from August 29, 1966 until his honorable discharge, October 8, 1970. He spent 3 years in Germany.

On October 19, 1968, Lowell was united in marriage to Janet Broske at Calvary Lutheran Church, Winger, MN. He was employed at Hoffards Garage, Combined Insurance, Puetz Cabinets, McIntosh Motors and Best Western, Thief River Falls, MN.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, Archery Club, VFW and Cub Master for Pack 59. He enjoyed glass etching, golfing, soft ball, wood burning, fishing, hunting and watching the Green Bay Packers.

Survived by wife, Janet, Thief River Falls, MN; children, Timothy (Cassandra), Savage, MN, Tony (Jennifer), Thief River Falls, MN, Daniel (Laura) Ramsey, MN, Jason (fianc, Veronica), Randolph, MN and Melissa (special friend, Clarence Davis) Hoffard, Park Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Nicholas, Bailee, Brady, Ian and Kylee Hoffard; sister, Linda (David) Ward, Erskine, MN; brothers, Merle Burnett, Blytheville, AR and Mark Burnett, Decatur, AL and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Ruby and Leonard Burnett; grandparents, Regina and Harold Casselman; adoptive parents, Norma and Harold Hoffard, brother, Gary Burnett and an infant brother and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
