Lucille B. Demarais, 85, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Monday, June 4, 2001 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery at Gentilly, MN.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Lucille Beatrice Vaudrin was born October 8, 1915 daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Derosier) Vaudrin in Polk County, MN near Gentilly. She was raised and attended rural school near Gentilly. Lucille was baptized in Gentilly. On November 4, 1937 she was united in marriage to William Demarais at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly. The couple lived and farmed in Gentilly Township all of their lives. In 1980 they retired and moved into Red Lake Falls where they have since resided. Bill passed away September 29, 1999. Lucille has been at Hillcrest Nursing Home since March 10, 1998.
Lucille was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. She belonged to the St. Anns Society, the senior Citizens and the Catholic Daughters. She had patience of a saint who was very family oriented. She loved watching her grandchildren play baseball and Hockey and was named Hockey Grandma . Lucille enjoyed needlework, quilting, gardening and watching birds. And was known for making great bread and chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by her children Dee Greskowiak of St. Paul, MN; Luella (Duane) Greskowiak of Anoka, MN; Roman (Pauline) Demarais of Bloomington, MN; James (Christine) Demarais of Red Lake Falls, MN; Janet (Hank) Knott of Monticello, MN; Theresa (Rick) Ricketts of Red Lake Falls, MN; Vern (Marlys) Demarais of Crookston, MN; Audrey (Denny) Roy of Dillworth, MN; Celeste (Tom) Morris of Crookston, MN and Jeaneanne Demarais of Missoula, MT. One son-in-law Tim Audette of Wyoming, MN. 34 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters Florence Maygra of Yakima, WA; Irene Skelly of Tacoma, WA; Jeanette (Russell) Glass of Crookston, MN Delbert (Verna) Vaudrin of Crookston, MN and Clarence Frenchie (Marlys) Vaudrin of Crookston, MN.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill; daughters Margaret Audette and Cynthia Demarais.
