Obituary

Lucille Myers of Thief River Falls, MN age 89 died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor George Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Silverton Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Saturday at church. Lucille Jeanette Williams was born on March 4, 1926 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Henry and Lena (Kaushagen) Williams. She was baptized and confirmed at Silver Creek Lutheran Church near Thief River Falls. She attended country school and then graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls with the class of 1944. On July 16, 1944, Lucille was united in marriage to Bernard Myers at Silver Creek Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on the Myers family farm in North Township of Pennington County. To this union six children were born, Harold, Charlotte, Charlene, Jerald, Eldon and Daryl. Lucille enjoyed raising their children and working alongside of Bernard on the farm through the years. After her children were grown, Lucille sold Tupperware and worked as a nurse's aide at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls. After retiring from farming, Lucille and Bernard moved to Roy Lake, MN, and she began working as a nurse's aide at Mahnomen. The couple moved back to Thief River Falls in 1997. Lucille was a member of Silver Creek Lutheran Church, Nee Gon Nee Church, Trinity Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Brethren Church. For many years, Lucille accompanied Pastor George Davis and played the piano for residents at the area nursing homes. Lucille and Bernard were 4-H leaders for many years. They were inducted to the 4-H alumni, 4-H Hall of Fame. She was active with her children's activities; enjoyed knitting, crocheting, canning, baking, cooking, and especially enjoyed playing the piano. Lucille would help anybody and everybody. This would include her family, friends, foster children, nursing home residents, or anybody who would come along. Survivors include her loving children, Harold (Marian) Myers of Thief River Falls, Charlotte (Craig) Pladson of Ramsey, MN, Charlene (Robert) Kramlinger of Cottage Grove, MN, Jerald Myers of Thief River Falls, Eldon Myers of Thief River Falls, and Daryl (Kathy) Myers of WA; grandchildren, Kimberly (Lee) Hamre, Allison (Vince) Miramontes, Cindy (Matt) Olson, Candy (Don) Flower, Craig Pladson, Jr., Shaun (Mary) Kramlinger, Stefanie (Glen) McCarthy, Erica (Greg) Emmans, Matt Myers, Ben (Jenny) Myers, Lindsay (Shane) Morinville, Kayla (Nick) DeBusk; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorie Hagen of Wadena, MN; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard in 2003.
