Lucille Passa Thief River Falls, MN age 89 died on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM on Thursday at the church. Alta Lucille Brosseau was born on December 20, 1923 in Bowesmont, ND the daughter of Edward and Alma (Odstat) Brosseau. She attended school in Bowesmont and then completed Normal Teachers Training at Mayville State College. Lucille then taught country school near Bowesmont for one year and then went to work at a general store in Bowesmont. On January 11, 1947 she was united in marriage to Frank Adam Passa at Drayton, ND and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. To this union six children were born, Dennis, Patrick, Carol, Candace, Mary Beth, and Sherry. Lucille was baptized into the catholic faith at the time her first child was born. Together Frank and Lucille ran Frankie's Bake Shop for 4 years in Drayton until moving to Thief River Falls in 1952. Frank and Lucille enjoyed family activities and gatherings, projects like house remodeling and just enjoyed their lives together. Lucille's family was her whole life. In addition to raising their family of six children, Lucille took in many foster children, did childcare for family friends, and housed college students. Survivors include six children, Dennis (Norma) Passa of Kandiyohi, MN, Pat (Ginger) Passa of Newfolden, MN, Carol (Jim) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN, Candy Thorson of Coon Rapids, MN, Beth (fiancé, Phil Knott) Sisler of Red Lake Falls, MN and Sherry (Brad) Schraut of Stillwater, MN; 18 grandchildren, Aaron, Ben, Charlie, Jenni, Kevin, Devon, Roger, Nick, Briana, Erica, Terri, Adam, Sara, Matt, Mikayla, Noah, Sam and Amanda; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Porter of Cavalier, ND and Blanche Passa of East Grand Forks, MN; brother, Lynn (Mary Lou) Brosseau of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank on February 12, 1999; a stillborn great-grandchild; brothers and sister, Herbert Joseph (Gertrude) Brosseau, Roberta (Clarence) Fauskin, Glen (Maryellis) Brosseau; and brothers-in-law, Carl Porter and Jake Passa.
