Lyle Konickson, 63, died Monday, April 2, 2007 at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND.



Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating. Burial will follow at Clara Lutheran Cemetery, rural St. Hilaire, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral at church.

Lyle John Konickson was born October 19, 1943 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Clarence and Alyce (Korvela) Konickson. He was raised in Red Lake County where he lived most of his life. He was baptized and confirmed at Clara Lutheran Church by Pastor Augustine, in rural St. Hilaire, MN. He attended elementary school and Pershing High School in Plummer. He went on to complete his GED later in life which he was very proud of.

On March 24, 1970, Lyle was united in marriage to Charlene Marty at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire and they made their home on Lyles farm in Gervais Township, Red Lake County MN. To this union three daughters were born, Juanita, Suzanne and Heidi.

He farmed for many years with his dad and his brothers, Vernon, Roger and Neil. Lyle was a hard worker. He went on to work on the pipeline and various construction jobs. He also worked for Hydra Mac, Northern Pride in Thief River Falls and he most recently worked for Experience Works in Moorhead, MN.

Lyle was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN. He enjoyed visiting with his co-workers, putting jigsaw puzzles together, hunting and fishing. He moved to Moorhead and was diagnosed with cancer in March 2006.

Survivors include his daughters, Juanita (Chad) Knudson of Aviano, Italy, Suzanne (Scott) Harris of Clinton, Utah, and Heidi (Josh) Kukowski of Dickinson, ND; grandchildren, Sophia Knudson, Blake and Jerzi Kukowski, and three more grandchildren are expected in April, May and July; brothers, Vernon (Carole) Konickson of Red Lake Falls, Roger Doc (Arlys) Konickson of Plummer, and Neil (Pam) Konickson of Red Lake Falls; sisters, Doris Skredergard of Billings, MT; Carol (Roger) Neisen of Mahnomen, MN; aunt Marion Patenaude of Brainerd, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 nieces, Brenda Konickson and Camille Skredergard; and several aunts and uncles.
