Lyle Pederson, 74 of St Hilaire, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his residence.

The service to celebrate Lyle's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be provided by the Ecklund-Holmstrom American Legion Post 117, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2793 and Minnesota Army National Guard Honor Guard.

Lyle Chesley Pederson was born September 12, 1945 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Kenneth and Edna (Blomberg) Pederson. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire, MN.

Lyle attended Northrop Elementary, Lincoln High School graduating with the class of 1963 and also attended the Area Technical Institute for Architectural Drafting graduating in 1970 all in Thief River Falls.

On September 25, 1965, Lyle was united in marriage to Bonita Sevre and to this union two children were born, Troy and Michelle. They made their home in St. Hilaire, MN where Lyle has continued to reside.

On October 21, 1965, Lyle entered into service with the United States Army in Fargo, ND, did his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and was stationed at Tacoma, WA. He was decorated as a sharpshooter and was Honorably Discharged on October 20, 1971.

Among his many jobs throughout his life, Lyle worked at Bunny Bread for a short time, Gamble Robinson until May 1977 when he went to work at Forsberg, Inc. in Thief River Falls. Lyle enjoyed his work with Forsberg's and served as the union steward for a time. Lyle retired on September 26, 2008.

In his free time, Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his friends from St. Hilaire and spending time in his favorite recliner watching TV especially John Wayne shows.

Survivors include his son, Troy Pederson of Thief River Falls; daughter Michelle (Mick) MacMillan of Becker, MN; four grandchildren, Cale MacMillan, Claire MacMillan, Tristan Pederson and Jade Pederson; sister, Sheryl (Dan) Bsales of Surprise, AZ; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Pederson, Carol Pederson, Joy Pederson; many nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Keith Pederson, Kendall Pederson, Royce Pederson; sister, Janice Laufman; and nephew, Trent Carlson.
