Lynette Ruth Grove, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, left this world suddenly on March 3, 2021.

Due to Covid restrictions, attendance is limited. We invite all of Lynette's family and close personal friends to join us for Funeral services that will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Johnson Funeral home in Thief River Falls MN at 2pm. Lynette was born January 23, 1958 in Thief River Falls, MN into the family of Lloyd and Lorraine (Hoium) Mercil of Thief River Falls MN, the third of five siblings. She grew up in a house full of love and fun. Many memories were made with her sisters and brother growing up together in Brooks MN. She attended school in Oklee MN.

On the 4 ^th of July in 1973, fireworks flew and she met the love of her life, Gary Grove. After graduating in 1976, Gary and Lynette were married on July 3, 1976. From this union two sons were born, Adam and Aric.

Lynette took great joy and pride in watching her sons grow up and become successful men. She could be found on every fall Friday night at Hawley Nugget football games cheering on the team and her two favorite players.  As the years went on she proudly took on the role of grandma. Lynette always took the time to call, text or send a card to her grandchildren. She was always there for their important moments, no matter how far the drive. She was truly a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She took great pride in her work. Lynette worked for many years at Wells Fargo Bank in the mortgage loan department and then finished her career at Cornerstone Bank, where she officially retired from on December 31, 2020.

Lynette's favorite thing was to visit with friends and family, whether that be at home or around the campfire at one of her and Gary's favorite spots: Clearwater Lake in northern Minnesota. There she loved to camp, enjoying 4-wheeling and kayaking. She said her best times were those spent with family and friends.

Lynette and Gary lived the high school sweetheart dream. From the age of 16, she lived a full life of love and laughter with family and friends. She left a legacy that impacted all who knew her and experienced the love of such a beautiful soul.  She will be missed by many.

Lynette is survived by her husband of 45 years Gary Grove of Dilworth; sons Adam (Chelsie) Grove of Washington, Il, and Aric (Jessica) Grove of Ray, ND; grandchildren Parker, Hadley, Benson, Bailey, Clayton, and Colton;  mother Lorraine Mercil of Brooks, MN; siblings Lynae (Sid) Finseth of Trail MN, Loring (Tracy) Mercil of Salem OR and Lori Mercil of Brooks MN.

She was preceded in death by her father Lloyd, sister Lorna Wicks; grandparents Ruth Hoium, Berlin Hoium, Mary (Louise) Mercil, Louis Mercil.
