Lynn Verbout, 53, died on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at his home in Pembina, ND.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 25, 2002 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow in St. Bernards Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, July 24, at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.

Lynn Allen Verbout was born on January 22, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Hippolet and Hazel (Hill) Verbout. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Clements Church in Grygla, MN. He attended school in Grygla, MN.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Louise Olsen on February 14, 1970 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Grygla, MN and Lynn continued to work at the Land O Lakes turkey plant in Thief River Falls. He began working there at the age of 16 and worked for over 25 years. The couple then moved to Pembina, ND where Lynn began working for Motor Coach Industries where he was still working as an assembler.

Lynn enjoyed his grandchildren and family the most. Spending time with them meant everything. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, vegetable and flower gardening. He also enjoyed nature and watching and feeding the birds.

Lynn is survived by his wife Phyllis, Pembina, ND; two sons: Chris (Beth) Olsen, Red Lake Falls, MN; Michael (Fiancee Rozella) Verbout, Thief River Falls, MN; two daughters Nancy (Fiancee Roger Olson) Verbout, Thief River Falls, MN; Karen (Dion) Larson, Strandquist, MN; 15 grandchildren, Curtis Olsen, Luke Olsen, Tanner Olsen, Dylan Olsen, Roxanne Eggerud, Cory Geske, Michaela Verbout, Adrien Verbout, Briar Verbout, Courtny Verbout, Samantha Weigel, Ashley Verbout, Shaun Morden, Shantel Larson, Josiah Larson, four brothers, Robert (Mary Ann), Grygla, MN; Melvin (Irene), Fargo, ND; Donald (Angeline), Grygla, MN; Wayne (Marie Ann), Grygla, MN; four sisters, Eileen (Harold) Miller, Moorhead, MN; Grace (Ralph) Rundell, Grygla, MN; Deloris (Conrad) Gracier, Junction City, KS, Betty Lou (Robert) Willett, Dilworth, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Rolland, one grandson Brandon Olsen, and nephew Donovan Verbout.
