Mabel Hagl, 85, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, December 29, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN. Arrangements with the Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN at 11:00 AM with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Red Lake Falls.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service and also one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Mabel May Hagl was born January 21, 1915 daughter of the late Fred and Ida (Schwechel) Marwitz at Alliance Township, Clay County, MN. She was raised and attended school at Mentor, MN. On February 27, 1933 she was united in marriage to Paul Hagl at Terrebonne, MN. The couple lived and farmed North of Red Lake Falls until moving into Red Lake Falls in 1947. Paul passed away December 25, 1987. Mabel lived in Sunset Court for a time then moved into Hillcrest Nursing Home on September 1, 2000 where she has since resided.
Mabel always enjoyed gardening and raising a flower garden and loved to make quilts for her family. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mabel is survived by her children Kenneth Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN; Douglas (Louella) Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN and Dorothy (Gusty) Samsa of Chisholm, MN: 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. One daughter-in-law Audrey Wolf of San Diego, CA. Two sisters May Pamperine of Camanche, Iowa and Eva Kopsill of Barnsville, MN several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, son Duane in 1992, brothers William Marwitz, Theodore Marwitz, Carl Marwitz, Fritz Marwitz, Robert Marwitz, Herman Marwitz; sisters Melvina Godhamer, Lena Firust, Ella Tillman, Ida Moll, and Alice Marwitz: one daughter-in-law Rita Hagl.
