Mable Christofferson, 89, died on Friday, April 11, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Monday, April 14, 2003 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Mable A. Christofferson was born on April 4, 1914 Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Carl and Anne (Skomedal) Christofferson. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1932. Following High School Mable worked in her fathers Golden Rule Grocery Store until it was sold. She then began working for Ekeren Drug, when Ole Ekeren owned it and she also worked for Robert Ekeren, the present owner. Mable enjoyed meeting all the people from all walks of life, who came through the doors of Ekerens and loved working there. Mable retired in 1980 with 25 years of service at Ekerens.
Mable was a resident for one year and 2 ½ months of Valley Home and at CNC for a brief time.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and enjoyed her time in Leisure Fellowship. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed her friends and family and loved going for coffee and lunching with the people she cared for. Mable enjoyed young children and always had a treat of money for them.
Mable is survived by one brother, Rueben Christofferson of Fergus Falls, MN; one sister, Eleanor (Mrs. Pete) Bradley of Thief River Falls, MN; sister-in-law, Eleanor (Mrs. Alvin) Christofferson of Thief River Falls, MN; nephew, Gary Christofferon St. Paul, MN; niece, Susan (Mrs. Arthur) Knutson of Maplewood, MN; and her dear friends, Joanna Pearson of Fargo, ND, June and Gordon Thrane of Thief River Falls and Jarrod and Roberta Kalsnes of Thief River Falls, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Florence Frankenberger; one brother, Alvin Christofferson; and one niece, Arlene.
