Mae E. Theroux, 86, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at 2:00 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service and also one hour prior to services on Wednesday all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls.

Mae Emma Demarais was born on May 16, 1915 in Gentilly, MN daughter of the late John B. and Justina (Trudeau) Demarais. She was raised near Gentilly, confirmed at St. Peters Catholic Church there and also educated there. On February 12, 1934 she was united in marriage to Armond Herman Theroux at St. Peters Catholic Church in Gentilly. The couple lived and farmed on several farmes in Red Lake County. In 1961 they purchased and operated Theroux Hilltop caf and gas in Red Lake Falls until 1967 when they sold the caf. Mae started working at the Hillcrest Nursing Home until her retirement in 1976. Armond passed away December 15, 1975.
Mae enjoyed gardening, playing cards, going to the casino, bowling, dancing, cooking and canning but most of all enjoyed family gatherings and reunions. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and guild in Red Lake Falls, the Catholic Daughters and helped with the one fund drive in Red Lake Falls.
She is survived by her children Russell Theroux of Albuquerque, NM; Robert Theroux (LyNette) of Las Cruces, NM; Raymond Theroux Las Cruces, NM; Larry Theroux (Annette) of Oak Creek, WI; John Theroux (Doris) of Brooklyn Park, MN; Wayne Theroux (Diana) of Ropesville TX; Marlene Theroux of Eagen, MN; Carol Proulx of Red Lake Falls, MN; Shirley Cameron (Denny) of Floodwood, MN; Katherine Tollefson (Ted) of Glindon, MN; Rose Mary Theroux of Fertile, MN; Armond Theroux Jr. (Shelley) of Tijeras, NM; Daniel Theroux of Albuquerque, NM and Timothy Theroux of Thief River Falls, MN. 51 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. 2 sisters Irene Philion (Lloyd) of Red Lake Falls and Alice Bombardier (Harvey) of San Pablo, CA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, granddaughter Gina and daughter in law Patricia, sisters Laura Baril, Lucille Snyder, Marie Page, Virginia Houle, Eva Houle and Delia Bombardier and two brothers John Demarais and Bill Demarais.
