Marc Chaput of Red Lake Falls, MN died at his home near Red Lake Falls, on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN with Father Robert Schreiner and Deacon Denny Bivens Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery at Gentilly, MN. Visitation will be held from 5 -8 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN and also one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Marc Anthony Chaput was born June 24, 1968 at St. Francis Hospital in Crookston son of Roma and Marie (Proulx) Chaput. He was raised on the family farm south of Red Lake Falls. He attended school in Red Lake Falls graduating from Lafayette High School in 1986. He worked on the family farm for a time and later at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN. He worked for St. Hilaire Elevator at the Sunflower plant. He then worked at New Flyer in Crookston, Digi-Key in Thief River Falls, for various farmers in the area and most recently at the Cenex fertilizer plant in Red Lake Falls. On August 9, 1997 he was united in marriage to Laurie DeHaan at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple made their home SW of Red Lake Falls where they have continued to live. Marc enjoyed hunting, fishing, 6-wheeler rides, gardening, most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife Laurie Chaput of Red Lake Falls, MN; children Samantha (fiancé Matt Stengrim) DeHaan, Joseph and Emma Chaput all of Red Lake Falls, MN; granddaughter Maddilynn; mother Marie Chaput of Red Lake Falls, MN; brothers and sisters, Debbie (Dennis) Hanson, Cynthia Johnson, Michelle (Guy) Kruse, Rick (Peggy) Chaput, Tim (Shelly) Chaput, Lisa Hanson, Craig (Carole) Chaput, Ed (Cherie) Chaput, Dennis (Eileen) Johnson; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Roma Chaput and son Josh Chaput. CASKET BEARERS: Joseph DeHaan, Lee Rondorf, John Rondorf, Jordan Chaput, Corey Brault, Jeremy Brault, Aaron Knott, Tyler Chaput.
