Marcia Merrill, Thief River Falls, age 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 19, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND and was reunited with her loving husband Arlen. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Johnson Funeral service in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert Officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Marcia Faye Leach was born April 4, 1953 in Thief River Falls, MN daughter of Walter and Helene (Welch) Leach Sr. She was raised in Thief River Falls and attended school at St. Bernard's Catholic School and Franklin School and graduating from Lincoln High School in 1972.

She worked at A&W during high school, D&H Market for a time and Oakland Park Nursing home until 1988 when she decided to stay home to take care of her premie son Jesse and do daycare for grandkids and a few neighbor kids.

On September 26th, 1972, Marcia was united in marriage to Arlen Merrill in Dorothy, MN. To this union, 3 sons were born. Chad, Robert and Jesse.

Marcia Enjoyed Spending time with her family, baking and decorating for the holidays, she was known for her sense of humor and creating chaos amongst the family (in a fun way). The Merrill household was always full of fun activities and get togethers. She was also a very big animal lover of all kinds. The family has had several furry companions grace the household over the years.
She was a very selfless person and was always more concerned about everyone else. Willing to lend an ear to anyone in need. She became a Mother figure to many family friends who entered the household due to her caring nature. She also enjoyed a cold Keystone Light.

Survived by sons: Chad (Gena) Merrill and Robert Merrill, Jesse (Vicki) Merrill all of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: Kaeley, Brody, Ashley, Logan, Noelle, and Korah Merrill, Brady, and Jacob Merrill; great-grandson Kasen Muzzy; brother Walter (Connie) Leach Jr. of East Grand Forks, MN and sister Darcy (Don) Faus of Dilworth, MN along with her special niece Jacqui of Dilworth, MN and other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Arlen on December 2, 2000, parents Walter and Helene Leach Sr., brothers Wayne and Jeff Leach.
