Margaret Brawley, age 87, of Gatzke, MN passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Gatzke. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke, MN with Reverend Craig Bowyer officiating. Burial will follow at Landstad Cemetery, Gatzke, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 5 - 7 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Margaret Angieline Fulfer was born on July 15, 1926 in Waurika, OK to Henry and Millie (Wright) Fulfer. She attended school at Valley View Elementary school in Texas, graduating with a GED in 1972. On July 18, 1943, in Walters, OK, Margaret took Ruben Brawley's hand in marriage. Together they had five children: Carrie, Nancy, Henry, Glenda, and Rex. The couple made their home in Wichita Falls, TX, Petrolia, TX and in 1968 moved to Gatzke, MN to farm and raise cattle where they have since resided. Margaret worked as a farm wife for many years, worked at Polaris for 12 years, and ran Gatzke Café from 1972-1973, retiring in 1989. Margaret enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting with Ladies Aid, writing poems and short stories, and keeping daily journals. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed making play dough, giving them hugs and rocking her grandbabies to sleep. She is survived by children, Carrie Evelyn (Dale) Rogers of Gatzke, MN, Glenda Gail (Wally) Chaplinski of Middle River, MN, and Rex "Butch" Alvin (Anne) of Garrison, ND; grandchildren, Angie (Mike) Mickelson, Patti (Melvin) Lagos, Clinton "Scott" (Renee) Brawley, Kimberly Dawn (Edward) Webber, Ruben Lee (Gena) Brawley, Katie Marie (Jeremy) Jensen, Stacie Michelle (Aaron) Nelson, Russell William Brawley, Rylan Tucker Brawley, and Royce Spencer Brawley; great-grandchildren, Lucy Colleen Mickelson, Chyenne Rose Mickelson, Braedy Eric Roepke, Owen Daniel Lagos, Sarah Evelyn Lagos, Bo Dawson Brawley, Hannah Lee Holt, Caisha Rae Brawley, Taryn Brawley, Gracie Marie Nelson, and Nevaeh Grace Brawley; sisters, Henry Ella Gray, El Dorado Springs, MO, Sadie Wright, Cabot, AR, Barbara (Don) Hunt, Bluffton, AR, Sharon (Hershal) Wilson, Greenbrier, AR; brothers, Travis (Jennifer) Fulfer, Maumelle, AR, Larry (Lois) Fulfer, Jacksonville, AR, Troy (Linda) Fulfer, Houston, AR, and Coy (Anita) Fulfer, Conway, AR. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben, son Henry "Bo", daughter, Nancy, sisters, Lenora Lawrence, Wanda McDaniel, and Collean Johnson.
