Margaret Hamm, 69, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.
Margaret Ann Boutain was born on January 1, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Alexander and Sadie (Wilson) Boutain. She was baptized at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Dorothy, MN. She was raised on a farm near Dorothy, MN and attended country school. She then went to attend Franklin Middle School and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.
On June 3, 1967, Margaret was united in marriage to, Forrest Hamm in Thief River Falls, MN. To this union five children were born, Veronica, Micheal, Sandra, Anita and Marcy. The family lived in Viking, MN, Sutton, ND, Warren, MN, and on a farm west of St. Hilaire for many years before making their final move to Thief River Falls in 2005 where they have continued to reside.
In the early years, Margaret worked on a potato farm NE of Warren, MN, then she worked at Northern Pride in Thief River Falls for 14 years, was custodian at the Northwest Technical College in Thief River Falls. She also cleaned at the CNC Unit at Northwest Medical Center for 10 years and retired at age 62 from Walmart where she also was a custodian.
Knitting, crocheting, rummage sales, planting flowers, being outdoors, taking care of the swimming pool for the kids, playing at the casino, hollering at the husband & kids when they needed it, loved spending time with the grandkids and visiting with all of her family, friends or anyone; and going for a drive with Forrest.
Survivors include her loving husband, Forrest of Thief River Falls; children, Veronica (George) Taylor of Bucyrus, OH, Micheal Hamm of Brooks, MN, Sandra (Fred Pederson) Hamm of Thief River Falls, Anita Hamm of Fargo, ND and Marcy (James) Beaver of Niagara, ND; grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Nicole, Megan, Anson, Aria, Jayson, and Morgan; siblings, Wilfred (Pat) Boutain, Clarence (Varuna) Boutain, Lawrence (Evie) Boutain, James (Kay) Boutain, Sharon Grindeland, Mary Ann (David) Sweno, Linda Hamlin, Virgil (Jenny) Boutain; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, infant Darlene Boutain, Raymond Boutain, Ronnie Boutain, and Alexander Jr. "Poncho" Boutain.
